My Last Spring Break. Ever.
Well, this is it. As the MBA party draws to a close, I am on my last Spring Break. Ever. Until my kids - assuming I have any - have Spring Break. But this is it for me. Unlike last year's somewhat exotic Mexico trip with Peter (our preliminary honeymoon!), this year's Spring Break has been decidedly less exotic. I spent the first part of break in Florida visiting my mother. Don't get me wrong - I had a great time. But Rainberry Bay is no Puerta Vallarta! It was a great trip, if too short. All I did was relax, eat, read, watch TV and exercise. My mom took amazing care of me. She even did my laundry! Let me just say, growing up my mother never did my laundry. I have been doing my own laundry for as long as I can remember! So, I was pampered there and it was wonderful. Just what the doctor ordered. And plus I wanted to see grandpa after his hospital scare. He looks wonderful, though - much better than I was expecting. And much younger than his 74+ years.
The second part of break begins tomorrow. I am flying to Palm Springs...to see...Jason. Maybe I am crazy. Maybe this is a really bad idea or a huge waste of time or a great night taken one step too far. But as Jack noted, I have no choice but to do this. I met an awesome guy. It may or may not turn into something meaningful. But for sure, if I don't see him again soon, it will have no chance. At least this way I am giving it a shot and we shall see what happens. More likely than not circumstances will get in our way. We definitely find each other geographically undesirable and unless we fall head over heels, there is no real way to get around that. So, I am going in with low expectations for the long term but really hoping to have an awesome weekend. Palm Springs. Who would have guessed?
